Our memorial golf day at the Selsdon Pk golf club in memory of our son RFN Danny Simpson went really well considering the weather conditions on the day. At first it seemed we’d have to cancel, but I’m happy to say 34 golfers persevered and endured the very wet conditions; although I’m sure they were all glad to be back at the ’19th hole’. The evening event at the Addiscoombe sports and social club went really well and a good time was had by all. We had a ‘name the Rifles teddy’ using names from Dan’s platoon, this raised over £100. We also had some fantastic gifts donated by Harrods for our ‘silent auction’ including a signed crystal palace football; so we wish to express our thanks to them and everyone else who generously donated prizes for our raffle.
A further big thank you to all the golfers and everyone who came along and supported the evening event, with special thanks to Caroline Screen the golf manager at Selsdon Pk for all her help and kind donations.
Our memorial days only work with a lot of help and effort from friends and family, the list is too long to mention, but without their help these events would not be able to take place, so a big thank you to everyone who was involved on the day and in the build up to the event, the day was a great success and we managed to raise £2212.00 for Care for Casualties.

Care for Casualties would like to thank Bob and Deb Simpson and their family and friends for raising such an amazing amount and for supporting The Rifles.
